What I Wore Sunday

Finishing up 7 posts in 7 days! Whew!  I'm ready for a break now!

My three favorite posts from this week are:

It's been a fun week of posting and reading everyone else's posts.

So, I don't have too much for you today.  Just a picture for What I Wore Sunday.

I hate this picture.  It's the type of picture I look at and just think ugh..I have got to lose some weight.  I guess that is what Lent is for, right??  I didn't get any pictures today I was really happy with, so I'm trying to be humble and throw this picture up anyway.

I've been trying to go through and simplify my wardrobe and figure out what to keep and what to get rid of.   Laura first got me started on the idea of a minimalist wardrobe and I love the idea.  I want to just have a few clothes that are comfortable, high quality, fit well and look good.   The problem is just trying to figure out exactly what those clothes are....and throw in changing seasons and changing body shapes (no, I'm not pregnant right now, but it *could* happen), and the whole process seems overwhelming.  But, I do love the idea of having fewer clothes and knowing that everything fits well and looks good (like the above pants do not look good, so they are going to go in the *get rid of* pile).

So, this is what I should have worn to Mass today.   I like these pants much better.   That's what happens when you are running late and take your picture after Mass.  Oh well....now, I'll know for next time.

So, that's where I am.  Go see FLAP for more Sunday outfits.

  1. Girl! The ONLY thing I was thinking about as I read this was, I'm so sad you're so hard on yourself! You have to lose some weight?? Where? I HATE that as women, we're so hard on ourselves and each other. Give yourself a break. You look amazing, and I really like the whole outfit, including those black pants! Where what makes you feel comfortable... even though you look great in both outfits, the other pants made you smile. That's the only difference. :) God bless you!!

  2. I am JEALOUS about the lack of snow in your yard.

And I am also a big fan of the minimalist approach to the wardrobe. I found that getting pregnant with #1 really got me to simplify how I dressed, and I LOVED it. I loved having fewer choices. It was less overwhelming, saved time, and it probably help me focus on creating an overall attractive look, than getting hung up on how to wear one particular piece. I also liked taking a more logical, engineer style approach to clothing, thinking about function and fit and durability.

I feel a blog mini series coming on somehow ... this is a great topic to think about!

  3. Definitely no need to lose weight, at least judging from these pictures! I think you look great :) Sometimes there are items of clothing that just don't work anymore regardless of weight, you know?

I have to admit, I don't really mind when things stop fitting/working anymore, because then I can send them to twice or thredup and have some credit to spend on "new" things!

  4. I love your sweater! What a great color! And I have to agree...judging by these pictures I see no weight that you need to lose. You look great! And I too am jealous of the lack of snow in your yard!
